Job Description
Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, is inviting online applications from Indian nationals for vacancies at UCSL-Kochi on a fixed-term contract basis (up to 5 years).
Job Description: Overseeing electrical outfitting and power distribution, supervising installation and maintenance of electrical systems, automation, and control equipment, leading electrical Quality Control (QC) inspection routines, and coordinating testing/commissioning workflows on vessels and shipyard facilities.
Key Recruitment Details
Upper Age Limit: 45 years as of 01 September 2026 (Relaxation: +3 years for OBC, +5 years for SC, up to 50 years for Ex-servicemen).
Selection Process:Phase I: Written Test (Objective: 40 Marks + Descriptive: 40 Marks) Phase II: PowerPoint Presentation on Work Experience (20 Marks) Application Fee: ₹300 (SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are fully exempt). Qualification Required:3-year Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education OR ITI (NTC) in Electrical or Electronic trade from a state-recognized Industrial Training Institute.
Experience Required:For Diploma Holders: Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Engineering, Offshore platforms, Marine-related Engineering, or Govt./Semi-Govt. establishments (with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity). For ITI Holders: Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in the same sectors (with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity).
