Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, is inviting online applications from Indian nationals for workmen vacancies at UCSL-Kochi on a fixed-term contract basis (up to 5 years).
Job Description: Operating electrical substations, installing HT/LT switchgears and transformers, troubleshooting, and executing routine preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and plant machinery.
Common Eligibility & Important GuidelinesUpper Age Limit: 30 years as of 01 September 2026 (Born on or after 02 September 1996). Age Relaxations: +3 years for OBC (NCL); PwBD and Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India directives (cumulative maximum 45 years). Application Fee: ₹300 (Exempted for SC/ST/PwBD). Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience as an Electrician looking after substation operations, installation of HT/LT switchgears/transformers, and equipment maintenance in a Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Engineering, or Power Generation/Transmission/Distribution company. Qualification Required: Pass in SSLC, ITI (National Trade Certificate - NTC), and All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate - NAC) in the trade of Electrician
